I love, love prickly pears (tunas), seeds and all, I just peel them and eat them, yum yum, can't wait to get my hands on some.

They are not related to figs as far as I know, they grow on the prickly pear cactus. I LOVE the flavor, but they are not enjoyable to eat unless you blend and strain out the seeds - the seeds are numerous and a little too crunchy and big. They're a special treat for us at our house.
